G & J awning offers FREE estimates to all our customers. When you call our office, we will ask for information such as name, phone, email, and address. Our project managers cover various locations so based on the information you provide us we can get you connected to a project manager that can schedule an onsite visit or simply answer any of your immediate questions right over the phone.

G & J Awning offers professional installation services, ensuring that each awning is securely and expertly fitted to meet the highest standards. With their experienced team, they guarantee precision, durability, and aesthetic appeal in every project, providing peace of mind and satisfaction to our customers.    Our normal installation area includes all of Minnesota and the surrounding states.  We are known to travel outside of this area so if you have a project in another state talk to your project manager to see if installation can be included in the proposal or we can even ship the product to the job site.

Many of the fabrics and products G & J Awning offer will have specific warranties. For example, a retractable awning will have warranties for the material, motor, and frame. Sunbrella material, which is a solution dyed acrylic material used in many fabric awnings will have a 10-year warranty. Other fabric warranties range between 5 – 10 years. G & J Awning takes extraordinary pride in our products and quality of work, we offer a 2-year warranty for Craftsmanship.

First things first, do not use a pressure washer on your fabric awning(s), leave that to professional awning cleaners as they are more experienced with what pressure and nozzles are best to use for awning fabrics. Cleaning your awning can increase the longevity and keep your awning looking sharp. However, cleaning should be based on the specific material on your awning. Consult with our staff to determine the best course of action for cleaning your awning or we can refer you to a professional awning cleaner in your area.

We do our best to meet our customers’ schedules but there are many key factors to consider when building our awnings. Some contributing factors are time of year (spring through end of summer tend to be the busier times of the year), design complexity, materials used, style of awning, current workload and drawings approved. Yes, awnings are energy efficient.  According to the department of Energy Window awnings can reduce solar heat gain in the summer up to 65% on south facing windows and 77% on west- facing windows.

Yes, we can add your company name, logo, or design to your awning.  G & J awning offers a wide variety of graphic options based on fabric or product selections. Adding graphics to your awning is a fantastic way to enhance visibility but also reinforces your brand identity.

No, at G & J Awning we manufacture all our fixed framed awnings to manage snow loads based on the design of the awning. Retractable awnings can also remain installed on your home or business in their closed position (retractable awnings should not be operated in the winter months).   

Tension and Shade structures in Minnesota and surrounding areas should be removed in the fall and can be reinstalled in the Spring.  These units are not designed for snow loads.

Regulations and permit requirements vary depending on locations and city ordinances. It is important to check with local authorities to determine if any permitting is required related to your awning.

Metal awnings require less maintenance than fabric awnings and will have a longer life span. However, fabric awnings offer more design flexibility and have a wide array of color options.
